Speciality fabrics of obscure composition will not be integrated. for plenty of of the compounds indexed a number of substitute names are in use, a few of which from the chemist's viewpoint are both insufficient, ambiguous, or sometimes truly deceptive. during this version the compounds were indexed below names that are thought of to be chemically passable and which, whilst, could be quite established to perfumers; they don't inevitably comprise complete details as to the constitution of the com pound they usually make unfastened use of broadly authorised trivial names. In lots of the entries this can be through a scientific identify which defines the chemical constitution, whereas synonyms that are in use, notwithstanding occasionally chemically unsatisfactory, are given in brackets, with a cross-reference to the most access.
